Clients: Wellington Kindergartens.

Timeframe: 2 weeks over the school holidays.
Cost: $7,800
Brief: Scaffolding was required due to a steep drop-off at the rear of the building. The windows had suffered extensive rot over time, and all other trades had recommended full replacement at a cost of tens of thousands of dollars. However, we proposed an alternative solution to complete replacement, providing a more cost-effective approach while still addressing the underlying issues.

Special materials: An elastic repair compound made of a two-component epoxy was used for the permanent repair of decayed and rotten wood, ensuring durability and cost efficiency.

Complexity rating: High complexity.

Unexpected building work: As is often the case with rot repairs, the visible damage turned out to be only a fraction of the total issue. Once all the damaged material was fully removed, it became clear that the extent of the rot was greater than anticipated, revealing the true complexity of the job.
People involved: The project involved a project manager, builders, and painters.
