Practical Building Solutions is owned and run by licensed building practitioner Jamie Boyle.


Jamie's love of building started early – aged four.

All it took was meeting a tradesman who fixed his mum’s state house and wowed Jamie and his three brothers with magic tricks and good humour at the same time. “I was impressed with what he did and how he did it – even at that early age. He showed a warmth towards us that made a lasting impression on me. “That’s what I want to give my customers – excellent building solutions from a team who genuinely enjoy what they do and the people they work for.” After more than 15 years in the building industry, Jamie is excited to offer the Wellington region practical building solutions founded on:

We do architectural design, project management, building, construction and sub-contracting. We also offer a 24-hour emergency repairs and maintenance service.
Just as important – we are honest, efficient and qualified to work to the highest professional standards. We’re big on integrity too.

At Practical Building Solutions, our aim is to make sure our prices are well understood and agreed to before any work gets under way.
We achieve this by understanding your needs from the outset and finding the budget to suit your project.
Once your project gets started, we will monitor your project costs on a daily basis and let you know exactly where things are at.
If we find any problems that need attention, we’ll let you know what they are and the different ways to solve them within budget.
We also promise to come back and repair anything that is not quite right within 12 months of starting a project together.
We call this our real-price approach.
